Eddy Kenzo Turns Up the 'Heat' With 'Vaayo'
“Somebody say eyooo! Vaayo, va mu khubo gwe is da bomb!”
Directed by Jahlive Films, shot by popular Ugandan filmmaker, Frank “Jah” Mugerwa and produced by Bless at Bless Touch and Kuseim of Banq Records, “Vaayo” is a track by Ugandan-born superstar, Edrisah Musuuza (popularly known by his stage name, Eddy Kenzo) fresh off from the album “Biology”.
While fans are in still in the wake of the release of the video of his hit song “The Heat”, Eddy released another video. Kenzo’s song fuses Afrobeat and dancehall, telling a story about everyday struggles, tears, hustles, and success, which the video accurately depicted.
Vaayo (which means “move away”, when translated) is a crowd pleaser from Eddy who has performed in a lot of countries, and this he did not fail to mention in the song. “Vaayo” is under the dance/electronic genre and the video was neat and well-produced.
Eddy is referred to as the young Nelson Mandela by fans. Through his music, videos and dance clips, he showcases the beauty of Africa. Eddy is a talented artiste who is an inspiration to many youths in Africa; he is indeed proof that hard work pays, having lost his mum quite early and learning to survive on the streets for some years with no father figure.
He got his big break in Uganda in the year 2008 with the release of his hit song “Yanimba”. Another hit song of his, “Sitya Loss” generated a whopping 15 million views on YouTube. From then on, his rise to fame sped up, crowned by his winning of the 2015 BET Viewers’ Choice Award for Best New International Artist, earning him international recognition.
This music video made it to our list after receiving glowing applauds. So, enjoy this amazing one from Eddy.
