'Black Panther' Wins Best Costume and Best Production Design Oscars

The characters in the film were dressed by Ruth E. Carter. This was her third nomination and first Academy Award. She is the first African-American woman to win an Oscar for best costume design.

For production design, the Oscar went to Hannah Beachler. She is also the first African-American woman to win in this category. ‘Black Panther’ is now the first movie from Marvel Studios to win Academy Awards. It earned six nominations in total at this year’s Oscars.
