Is Brown Rice Really Healthier?
Rice is a common food staple around the world. It is a major feature of African and Asian cuisines, and more and more health-conscious Westerners are choosing brown rice over white. So which one is healthier? Brown or white? Brown rice is a whole grain. This means it contains three parts: the bran, the germ and the endosperm. But white rice has the bran and the germ removed. Despite brown rice being objectively more nutritious than white rice, it is not the healthiest rice. Wild rice, red rice and black rice are more nutrient-rich than their brown and white counterparts.
“Wild Rice is one of the most nutritious. It’s high in protein, low in fat and sodium, a good source of fiber, and provides vitamins and minerals.”
