Study Says Eating Organic Can Cut Your Risk of Cancer
Conducted by a research institute in France, the study lasted about 4.5 years and looked at the diets of about 69,000 French adults. Those who ate the most organic foods were 25% less likely to develop cancer. Eating organic seemed to have the greatest impact on developing non-Hodgkin lymphomas, with a 73% drop. Generally, organic foods are produced without toxic pesticides. The study authors theorize that replacing conventional food with organic food leads to “significant” reduction of contamination. This, in turn, leads to less risk for cancer.
“If the findings are confirmed, promoting organic food consumption in the general population could be a promising preventive strategy against cancer.”

Critics of the correlation between eating organic and a reduced risk for cancer say that more research is needed.
