This is an award winning narrative of the adventures of three people who board the train for Johannesburg. Each has a personal mission that involves searching their family in the city. However, upon arriving at Johannesburg, each of the three discovers that things are not the way they expected. As their lives take a sudden unexpected turn, the three come together in an encounter, providing that element of surprise.

One of the protagonists travels to the city for job promised by his big city cousin. However, he discovers the job is conditional on his killing the cousin’s adversary. The second, is a young man who has come to the city to claim the body of his dead father for a burial in his village as per the rites. However, the relatives in the city refuse to hand over the body. The third character is that of a woman, who wants to hand over the care of her niece and carve a future for herself in this big city away from rural life. When she arrives, she finds her aunt leads a degraded life, most unfit for rearing a small child. The three plots weave on, as each individual tries to fulfill expectations, till they mesh together when they happen to meet.

The performances are brilliant and the camerawork perfect, providing the social narrative for a great movie. It bagged many awards at the 2017 Africa Movie Academy and the Durban International Film Festival and is now distributed by Ava DuVernay’s Array to such sites as Netflix.
