Ryan Coogler Would Love an All-Female 'Black Panther' Spinoff
The ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler spoke about the possibility of a female-dominated spinoff at Cannes Film Festival last week. “Oh man. That would be amazing if the opportunity came up… We have these actresses who could easily carry their own movie. Some of them have before. We were so fortunate. I would watch a movie with them!” Marvel announced in March that the women of ‘Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, will get their own three-issue comic book series. According to the Huffington Post, the first installment, titled ‘Wakanda Forever: The Amazing Spider-Man’ will be released in June. ‘Black Panther’ went on to become one of the biggest box-office openings in film history and has grossed over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office to date.
