This easy recipe of traditional Malva Pudding is the recipe Jabi uses for her sisters wedding. With many international guests, Jabi thought it would be nice to show off her take of this South African classic dessert. Jabi uses stewed peaches to top the Malva Pudding for a unique sweet flavor. Using golden brown sugar gives the quintessential sweet flavor with the peach jam.

Malva Pudding
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup golden brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons peach jam
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- Pinch salt
- 1 cup milk
Syrup
- ½ cup Boiling water
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup golden brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons canned peaches
- Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Then, slowly beat in the egg, milk, butter & jam.
- Mix in a standing mixer on low for one minute.
- Then add the vinegar & continue to mix on medium until well blended.
- Spoon pudding mixture into individual oven-friendly cups.
- Bake 355 degrees for 15 minutes.
- While the pudding cups bake, use a hand blender to blend water, butter, sugar & peaches together to create the syrup.
- Pour syrup directly over fresh-baked pudding cups & serve. Top with additional canned peaches if desired.
