This beautiful Ombre cake recipe is a showstopper that’s easy and fun to assemble. Varying the level of cocoa powder in each layer of the cake and icing allows for the beautiful ombre effect. - 2 1 ⁄2 Cup flour
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 Cup Oil
- 2 1 ⁄4 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tbs Vanilla Essence
- 1 ⁄2 tsp Salt
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 Cup Cocoa
- Butter Cream (Whipped butter & icing sugar) frosting for decoration
- Prepare three cake tins by layering butter & dusting with flour.
- Preheat oven to 355 degrees F.
- Mix all dry ingredients, (except cocoa) then add each egg one by one.
- Then add oil and milk.
- Beat until smooth.
- Pour half of batter into one of the prepared cake tins.
- Then add cocoa to other half of batter then beat till well incorporated.
- Pour half of Choco batter in the other cake tin.
- Add last cocoa to get a darker color and beat till well combined.
- Then pour cocoa batter into another cake tin and then bake all three tins for 20 mins at 355 degrees F. Let cool on a wire rack completely.
- Stack cooled cakes using butter cream frosting to hold together and decorate as you’d like.
