Ethiopia boasts a rich history of and complex relationship with religion.  Many Ethiopians religious Christian and Muslim population observes many meatless days.  Along with meats, Zoma has vegetarian dishes with salads and stews that use grains, chickpeas, lentils, and peas.

Because of it’s position along old spice trade routes, Ethiopia has long been known for its breadth of herbs and spices used in the foods.  Beef and chicken stews with complex and layered flavors.  Ethiopian dishes range from spicy to SPICY, using Berber spice and mitmita spice!  To go along with the spicy dishes, be sure to try the Awaze, a special dipping sauce made with Berber and Tej (Ethiopian Honey Wine).
