Produced by Ebony Life Movies, this romantic comedy was the perfect movie for valentine. Released in Nigeria in February 10, this movie thrilled millions of viewers with its strong plot, setting and visuals.

The movie was centered on Ope, a skilled chef who tried to salvage her family’s failing hotel. Somewhere down the line, she fell in love with the man who tried to buy the hotel.

This movie was also screened in the Contemporary Cinema World Section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie features superb actors like Zainab Balogun, Joke Silva, Olu Jacobs, Jide Kosoko, and Rachel Oniga.

Getting Over Him

Produced by Uduak Isong, Getting over Him is another romantic comedy movie with a dramatic twist. The movie is centered on a heart broken lady, Mimi who caught her boyfriend cheating on her.

She finds comfort from a relationship blog that gives her a step by step guide to finding love again. Cast includes Majid Micahel, Matilda Obaseki, Deyemi Okanlawon, Olive Emodi and Bimbo Ademoye. The movie was released early January.

Kada River

Kada River is a historical film produced by Toka Mcbaror, a gifted producer who is keen on producing movies set in the 90’s. The plot centers on two love birds, Jerome and Nadia and their struggles during the Kaduna religious crises in 2000.

The movie stars veteran actors like Joke Silva, Keppy Ekpenyong-Bassey, and Rachel Oniga. It was released in February 21, 2018.

Wedding Party 2

Raking in an estimated #500 million  in box office, the Wedding Party 2  is the highest grossing Nollywood movie of all time. During its initial relate in December 2017, the movie  raked in about #20 million, over 100% increase on its revenue.

Produced by Ebony Life films, the Wedding Party 2 is a spin off from the Wedding Party and centers on Nonso, an Igbo boy and Deirdre, a British lady.

After an engagement ceremony in Lagos, Nonso’s Igbo family and Deirdre’s ‘upper-class’ British family reluctantly agree to a wedding in Dubai. The movie is funny, glamorous and has become one of Nigeria’s favourite romantic comedies.

The movie stars top notch actors like: RMD, Ireti Doyle, Shola Sobowole, Etomi Adesua, Bankole Wellington, Patience Ozokwor, Zainab Balogun and Alibaba.

The Gold Statue

In 2017, veteran producer Tade Ogidan produced the gold statue, a comedy drama focused on Wale and Chike who go in search of a statue believed to be an inherited idol. The two friends go through series of unimaginable ordeals to get their hands on the idol.

Produced by Ebony Life Movies, the plot is centered on the complicated and hilarious wedding ceremony between Duni, a Yoruba bride and Dozie, the Igbo groom. The movie captures the humour and drama involved in holding a high class wedding in Nigeria.

The movie features star actors like Adesua Etomi, Banky W, RMD, Sola Sobowale, Ireti Doyle, Zainab Balogun, Ay Makun and Ali baba.

Wives on Strike

This is a comedy drama directed by Omoni Oboli and follows the activities of four women who decide to stop the child marriage of a friends daughter, no matter the cause, even if it involves a sex strike.

The movie features top actors like Ufuoma Mcdermott, Kalu Ikeagwu, Kehinde Bankole, Kenneth Okonkwo, Julius Agwu, Uche Jombo and Chioma Chukwuka.

Half of a Yellow Sun

Produced in 2014, this historical film is based on the book written by Chimmamanda Ngozi Adichie. Directed by Biyi Bandele, this movie describes the events of the Nigerian civil war from 1967-1970. The protagonist of the movie, was brilliantly portrayed by Nigerian American actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor.
